Who can help with sims 2 error?

When I go to buy certain objects, not all of them just random ones, my game freezes. Like cradles, toilets, tubs, some plants. I can still move the mouse but it’s stuck holding the object and the object wont move and I have to restart my computer. control alt delete doesnt work either. I tried looking for patches or help on the net and it didnt work. I used the patch for sims2 and it didnt help.

eather your games got scratches or your computer needs to be worked on. my game never did that
