What would make my wedding tacky?

My fiance and I have set the day for Sept. 25th…we dont have a lot of money and I hate making my parents pay for everything. would it b tacky to have like a potluck for the reception?

I dont think so a lot of people in my fam do it I don’t know it kinda makes other people feel wanted I guess we always end up with tons of food that we know everyone likes

Above all else your wedding is a day for you and your fiance.

Sure other people will come and enjoy themselves but what you want trumps all other considerations.

No doubt some people will grumble about your wedding and reception no mater what you decide on but as Ricky Nelson observed, you can’t please everyone so you might as well please yourself.
