some have different shapes (or ribbing/bumps on them), I think your issuse it the amount of lub. if it to dry then youll feel some pain as you start at lest untill you get wet. so ask him what kind it was meaning if it has lub or not. if not then youll need one with lub

type I always buy are the Trojan ones with the spermicide lubricant. Make me feel like there is a bit of a backup plan if it breaks, and everything seems to go a lot smoother.
