What some really good, and sad books?

I really want to read really good but sad books. Appropriate for a 12\13 year old. And not a little kid’s book. Something that might make me cry. Like the book: Same Stuff as Stars (which is by Katherine Paterson) Thank you! Kitsunechan17

The Kite Runner, A Rose For Melinda, and pretty much anything by Nicolas Sparks. If you haven’t read My Sister’s Keeper yet, that’s definitely a great place to start (some mild swearing). Look up some things by Julia Bell as well, she’s an excellent author, and has written some heart-wrenchers.

I’ve read a series recently, called:”His Dark Materials”. It is filled with emotions, so I would suggest to anyone to read it!
