What should I do to not lose a good friend or great guy?

I need help asap! I don’t wanna lose my only true friend but I like this guy so much. It’s the first guy I’ve considered dating since my bad break up six months ago. Any advice? Be brutally honest.

Personally, if your friend like him first and that’s what you mean by not losing a true friend (question was a little unspecified) then I would at least talk to her first. I know it’s hard to think right now that a guy could ruin a long term friendship, but it can. You have to pick and choose your battles, mainly because no matter who you are friends with at some point they are going to like a guy that is more interested in their bff and it tears the friendship to pieces because of jealous and betrayal. Just make sure it’s cool before you move forward, she may even say it’s cool, but deep down she is really hurt, so be careful make sure you truly listen to what she is saying.
