What should I do about my knee?

I am 17 years old, over weight and semi active. Im in the marching band in the school. Early May in physical education class my knee buckled out from under me, without warning. I was standing still with my knees bent, the knee popped out and I fell, couldnt bear weight on the knee. This was the first time. I was on crutches for a week. The Second time I was marching in band, changing the direction from foward to backwards, my knee popped and I went down, intense pain was felt on the inside of my left knee, the same knee that gave out in may. I was taken off the field in an ambulance, I go to the er they did no xrays or anything but tell me to see my pcp. I go see my pcp and he tests the mobility declaring I sprained my MCL ligament and it will take a few weeks to heal. This past weekend I was preparing for a holiday party for my community and my knee gave way when I want to take a step backwards. It popped again and I went down. However the only difference is I didnt need crutches as the past two time, it was just tender and sore. Can anyone give me a suggestion as to what to do? I really dont want to go back to the PCP.

This exact thing happened to me back in high school. I know exactly how you feel, it hurts like crazy every time the knee kinda pops out as it does. Definitely need to get an MRI done on that knee to see if something is torn or just demolished over the many times your knee has done that. I played football, baseball and marching band on a knee that did this for 2 years. At first the doctor said after feeling around that it is just sprained and stay away from sport activities for awhile. I did this and continued on to do what I do and again my knee would pop out and would be unable to walk for a few minutes. Finally I got an MRI and ended up being my ACL. Got my surgery, rehabbed it and was all good ever since.

exercise in the bike .. not on treadmill. But the cause of your knee been like this is because of your overweight. you need to consult a doctor to get rid of the weight.

Go see another doctor and get a MRI done on the knee. I had multiple xrays and they all statedmy knee was fine when in fact the MRI showed I had minuscus tears as well as a severed ACL. During reconstructive surgery th surgeon stated my ACL was so deterioarted I must of been walking around for years with it severed which is what caused my menicus tears.
