What is the differnce between dye and highlights?

I wont to get my hair highlighted because my blonde hair is turning brown, But people are telling me that it will ruin my hair. I thought it was dye that ruined your hair.

depends. if you get either done at a professional hairdressers, then neither should ruin your hair. and if you go for the more high-end hair dyes (£15, £20) then they’re really good quality.

hmm well I think a dye will colour your whole hair and high lights will do just certain parts..
