Answer #1

“An IP address (Internet Protocol Address) is a logical address of a network adapter. The IP address is unique and identifies computers and other devices on a network.

IP address stands for Internet Protocol address. This basically is the locator for an IP device to find another one and interact with it. You can kind of think of it as a street address for your computer or other kind of network device. Your IP address can be used to identify a specific computer or other network device easily since every number is different.

There is a lot of technical jargon associated with IP addresses but as long as you think of it as your computer’s street address, it’s much easier to understand. With the enormous size of the Internet, the IP address is very important. It lets other computers know where to send data you are requesting whether it’s a website or any other kind of data you could imagine.”

I don’t know if it helps, but that’s all I found. sorry =(

IP addresses don’t have to be private really. Lots of websites collect the ip address of every visitor who comes. Wordsteal for example tracks ip addresses so that they can find out if someone is playing with themself on the same computer and letting themselves win for points. IP addresses are only used to refer to a specific computer. You can ban a computer from your website who is spamming if you have their IP. It’s just a way to refer to a computer. To find your IP, just search on google, what’s my IP.

Answer #4

your ip address is the address of your specific computer on the internet. it isn’t necessarily bad for someone to know, although I suppose someone could use it for evil if they wanted.

Answer #5

your IP is your computer’s identity on the internet.

basically these days, there isn’t much that can be done hacker wise with an IP address unless you aren’t running a firewall or Virus software.

another more “official” way of getting your IP address is to go to your CMD prompt, and type in ipconfig

that will give you all you need.

An IP(Internet Protocol) address is a numerical label that is assigned to a device (eg. computer, printer etc…) which is used in the Internet Protocol communication. The format of an IP address is a 32-bit numeric address which is written as four numbers separated by periods(.). Each number can be zero to 255. For example, 1.160.10.240 could be an IP address. An IP address can be static or dynamic. A static IP address will never be changed and it is a permanent Internet address. But a dynamic IP address is a temporary address that is assigned each time a computer or device accesses the Internet. To know network IP address visit the site Ip-Details.com . You can find only IP location, ISP address, country, latitude and longitude etc…
