I personally wouldn’t get a tongue ring but I’m pretty sure getting piercings has nothing to do with the spiritual world. I’m christian and I don’t see anything wrong with tatoos or piercings, you aren’t gonna go to hell or anything for something like that, that’s just rediculous.

My opinion, a hole is a hole, no matter where it is. Ear piercings are the same as lip, tongue, belly button, etc. In the Bible, it says your body is a temple… so piercings and tattoos are destroying the body.. I think it’s wrong for people to be so against tongue bars, and try to say it’s a sin, when really ALL piercings are. If you can’t get a tongue piercing because of your religion, then you can’t have your ears pierced either. Personally, the way I see it is I’m leaving my body behind, anyway. My only tattoo I have is a Bible verse.. will I go to hell for damaging my body.. with a Bible verse? I think people look down on tongue piercings because of what they’re known for..

Wow. Really? I think this is a really individual answer. For me, my tattoos carry very deep positive and wise meaning. They were sacred to me when and as I got them permanently marked into my skin, and are STILL sacred to me. They have been nothing but positive, and carry within them the LIGHT and WISDOM and HEALING within which I got them in…. My intent was such when I had them done, that they would be a fully positive thing for me. One thing I have learned about life… that some things ‘cause scars but leave strength and light even in their wake. Sometimes we have to break to be able to reform and be reborn… to truly embrace all of our capability. I think a tattoo or piercing is what it is intended…. It is not only what we experience it to be, but also what we hope to prove or impart with it, and what it means to us personally. I have found body mods incredibly beautiful ever since I first saw them. They are not, in any way for me, a rebellion. They are solely an expression of individuality, beauty, strength, and light. That is what they mean to me. Amazingly, I live in an area where often they are seen as such. I often get comments on the beauty of my tattoos, and people usually feel comfortable around me in general so they are not put off by them. So I even experience them as extremely positive, through the way others react. I hope this answer helps you to understand a bit at least why ) some of us get body mods.
