Will mace work on dogs?

I like to walk my 7 month old around the block since its gotten warm out but I’m afraid that one day it might be a loose..does pepper spray/ mace work on dogs? Or is there any way to protect against dogs?

Go to a local bike shop/ sporting goods store and pick up a can of pepper spray for dogs. Bicyclists have to deal with snarling dogs on a regular basis. Something about the spinning wheels stimulates their predator response. Anyway, It’s different from the human stuff. The spray comes out in a concentrated stream that you can aim over distance, and, yes, it will make a charging, barking pooch come to a dead stop and try to turn itself inside out to get away from the stuff. If you ever use it, though, you will want to have a latex glove to put over your hand afterwards until you can give it a thorough scrubbing. Even a tiny trace in the eye or nose will put you out of commission for about 15 minutes (not to mention the little one). I found out the hard way. Also, it wears off on the dog after about 30 minutes, and poses little risk of causing any permanent damage. I do not recommend the stick waving idea.

You really dont need to worry about that. Pepper Spray anyways could make the dog go blind which I find is very mean even if the dog was going to try to attack you.But still dont worry about it.You could easily just find a stick and wave at it and it will most likely back off

Yes, mace will work on dogs. It does have the risk of the dog going blind but worry about yourself before a dog.
