What do you like about St. Paddy's Day?

I’m Irish also. My favorite part is the getting together with family and eating corned beef (I prefer the ruben) and eating cabbage and potato soup. I also drink a pint of Guinness, but I do not get drunk, nor do I drink green beer.

In my area there is parades and everyone (typically of the young adult age) goes down town watches the parade and gets drunk. I’d say out of all these people 25% are actaully Irish.

The real Irish people in my area know its a day to stay in and eat/drink with family and friends.

Haha, I don’t celebrate it much, so I can’t proclaim my love for the holiday. It’s fun to pinch people who don’t wear green and whatnot, but in my area at least, it’s not that big of a deal. It’s certainly not a big holiday to get drunk on. We wait for Mardi Gras to do that :) It’s just another day with ‘’happy’’ attached to the greeting. Forgive me if that makes me sound like an ignorant American, but my plans for today consist of working and eating a bowl of rice…lol.
