What do I feed new born cockatiels?

My bird laid eggs the other day.when the eggs hatch what do I give the birds to feed the babies.do they just eat bird seeds like the parents?

Answer #1

Go to any pet stor and get stuff called (petamine) its a sutitue for those kinds of birds. I used to hand feed them myself. Make sure to add some peanut buuter. As they get older you can add some parakeet seed to the mixture and feed ithem with a syrange.

Just checking.

I found some resources while waiting for that answer. Tons of good information there about the dos and don’ts of baby cockateil feeding. Here’s a recipe for baby-bird formula, which you’ll need to feed them until they develop enough to handle seeds:

And I strongly recommend going through this list of hand-feeding problems and dangers so you know what to look for in case something goes wrong:

Good luck. I hope they hatch okay.
