What do I do to my belly button?

Ok in october I got my belly button pierced! And it was healing, with a barbell. But I put in my ring and it has gotten bad again. It wont lay right and it keeps getting like a red bump next to it. the top is very red but the bottom is fine.

So is it just like that because I mess with it a lot or is something wrong?

My piercer gave me some soap but when I went to a diff shop like 2 months after getting it pierced he said that soap wasnt helping and gave me some earing cleaner and said it would help. I havent put any thing on it like peroxide or anything. I have also had the flu twice so it did get red from that. But the red just wont go away on the top. I just want it to heal!

Any suggestions? (I have a pic on my profile)

Whatever you do, stop messing arond with it so much, The only times you should touch your piercing is when you are cleaning it. Mine I sin a Barbell, I Recomend using the babell and Keeping it that way once you know for shure its been healed Completely. The redness should dye down, try using only one type of cleanser because your body is used to using that. I use Purified water with salt. I dont use soap. The shop Gave me a spray, but you can buy sea salt at stores near by. Just please dont mess with your piercing too much. And if you are still not too shure, I say go back to the store whee you got it pierced, and ask questions!

First off, you changed your jewelry way too soon. You only gave your piercing a couple months to heal and that isn’t nearly enough. Naval piercings take months to heal; mine took a year. The redness and slight bump on top is normal, mine was the same way. I think it has something to do with the way it’s pierced and the top being the ‘exit wound’ of the piercing. That will all go away after it’s healed, but you have to be patient. These are one of the slowest, most difficult to heal piercings. You may want to change your jewelry back to the barbell that was placed in the piercing when you got it. Your piercing was healing around a bar and now it’s trying to heal around a ring, which is totally different so you may just be setting yourself back on healing time. Clean it a couple times a day with the cleanser/soap your piercer told you to use, and leave it alone. Piercings are wounds. They need adequate time to heal.
