What if you lose your voice and can't go to work?

I remember that i had to go to this meeting once at work, I decided to blow it off because I was extremely sick and had lost my voice completely, and I was going to call them up and tell them, but of course I couldn’t use my voice! So like what was I supposed to do? Plus I was at my friend’s house in middle town, really far from where I live, 30 mins away and it was early in the morning when the meeting occurred, so I didn’t end up going and got fired.

Hello,

That is what companies do; they have the power and fire as they please.

Evaluate your self as to why they fired you, for real. Ask yourself questions. How long have you been with the company? Did you have above average evaluations? Did you have above average attendance including tardiness or absentees? Did you get along with key people, especially decision makers?

If you did all the above then, you may have a valid complaint. Try going to unemployment and filing a claim. The company will probably dispute your claim; if they win, you lose.

You have two choices: A. job search, find another job. Keep doing this and working for people who can fire you anytime. You are nothing to companies.

B. Check into finding your own business that you can work from home and be your own boss. You give yourself your own pay raises and you can’t be fired.
