What kind of amp do I need

I run a 1000watt mono amp to two 15” subs the amp just broke, so should I get anuther mono or a two chanel? And what dose 1000 watts @ 2 ohm and 500watta @ 4ohm meen???

My subs are memphis 4 ohm and can handel 1000 watt..

It depends.

Speakers are generally 8 ohms.

So two subs in parallel means they are presenting 4 ohms to the amp. The amp is rated 1000 watts at 2 ohms, which means to have hte amp give the full 1000 watts, you’d have to have 4 subs in parallell.

Speakers in parallell with the same resistance (ohms) will divide by two, in series, they will double the resistance.

Do the math from there.

also im thinking of runing a memphis amp to it to would the make a diff?
