What are the requirement to go to heaven?

To go to heaven, get in plane and fly. The ancients who invented the idea literally believed that you went up into the sky (aka heaven) when you died. This silly belief basically persists even today.

GOD gave his son so that we may have a relationship with him. GOD is a god of change.We must know what sin is and repent(turn away). put it this way 1)ACKNOWLEDGE(that JESUS died on the cross for our sins

                      2)REPENT(meaning turn away from the way you know and asking JESUS for forgiveness of the sins we have committed)
                       3)ACCEPT(JESUS as your Lord and Savior)

we must have change in our life if we go back to the same life after accepting Jesus the we’re only had a moment of guilt for the things we do. We all have a purpose,a will and a destiny no matter who we are.God wants everyone in heaven.He loves us.

Well like pixiegrl141 says, if you have a relationship your going to want to make an effort to live a life without sin to the best of our abilities.

We can try to keep his commandments but no matter what we are always going to fall short.

Romans 3:22-24

There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

This is why Jesus was sent.. He was sent so that he can act as the perfect sacrifice to take away our sins.

If it were only based on our doing it would be impossible to get into heaven. No matter how hard we try to keep his commandments we’re always going to fall short.

And.. if we all could keep his commandments, there would be really no point for God to send Jesus Christ to save us.

If its was impossible to keep the commandments why would the Bible say these things

It says these things so that you know that its more then just believing.. The demons themselves believe and know there is a God.. But what they lack is a relationship.

It says this because you also need to make an effort to change your life and be different from the rest of the world. You need to make an effort to stop sinning and be God honoring and serve him. This is where the “relationship” part comes in… Does this mean we are all going to keep his commandments perfectly? No… ..but it does show that we are making an effort to have a relationship with him and honor his commandments.

Well like any relationship, it’s not easy but it takes work.

The one you want to focus on is Jesus Christ.

The Bible should be read through it’s entirity. However I like to focus on the first book of John the Baptist and the Book of Acts.

First you must recognize and believe that Jesus Christ was crusified for our sins.

We must then talk to a pastor and “wash away” your sins or get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and be reborn.

After this we can focus on the book of Acts and go through the Day of Pentecost.

God is a trinity: Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. All three of them work together.

Jesus will allow his spirit to live within you and help you throughout your life. It will help you see the world for what it is. You are now a light for the world which is in darkness.

I like this church because no other church that I have been into has given me goosebumps while listening to the pastor. It is not hard to keep the commandments. Living for God easy (meaning being wishwashy in religion) is hard. But living for God hard is easy. If you are truly committed and truely want a happy life with Jesus walking right by your side, you need a strong relationship.

Sex? Not difficult to abstain at all. Mind over body folks. The Bible states that your body is the temple of God. We need to respect that. If your married, awesome, no worries. Though if you are not, then it’s all about control and faith can overcome anything.

It is important to keep yourself humble in front of your Father and let him know how thankful you are. What kid goes up to their father and just tells him what he wants and demands it? It is different when the kid goes to his father and lets him know how much he loves him, how good he is and he humbles himself before him. We need to humble ourselves before God, Bless God and let him control and guide our lives. He knows what we need and you just have to give him your heart…that’s all.

I know that we all sin. But the Bible said Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” therefor as christians we should live by the principles of God and not our “feelings”

I know that sex is hard to overcome. but if others have done it why cant I? Plus God has enough power to help us overcome any sin. 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.

HI Matt I actually agree with everything that you have just said, but I just have a problem with what you said about it being impossible to follow the commandments. this to me is a slight of God’s power to redeem us from all sin. Mark 9:23 Jesus said …, all things are possible to him that believeth.

also Jesus would not tell us to do something that was impossible. He says “if you love me keep my commandments”

The bible clearly states in John 14:6 Jesus is the way the truth, the life no one can come to the father but by him. Accept Jesus in your heart Beleive that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, and that God raised him from the dead in 3 days. Then get in the word pray to guide he will send the Holy Spirit to guide you in all truth in your journey.

Working your way into heaven wont be good enough.

I believe that to go to heaven you have to give your life 2 him and use his word as your way,the truth, and your latern in this cold dark cruel society we call america John 3:16 is a verse that you need to memorize.

ok bornagain…we are human we are going to mess up and sin thats just how it is… its impossible because if it were possible then I would be jesus…Who is the only one who can live without sin.

Plus I agree with the first guy. Just have a relationship with God and your gunna want to live without sin because really what is sin…just making others unhappy and urself? That doesnt make sense…I think we should do exactly how we feel if its good like be ourselves exactly because God made each of us to act a certain way. I hate when people try to act like something their not…its like lieing to urself thats terrible..

The only thing thats hard is sex.

If its was impossible to keep the commandments why would the Bible say these things.

HI rosealyn. The Bible says otherwise. God loves and forgives but he also asks us to be obedient. Heaven is a place without sin. thats why satan was thrown out. God and sin does not coexist. if we hold on to sin, How can we expect to live in His presence?

The only requirement is that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and believe that he took your place on the cross and died for your sins so that you didn’t have to pay the price yourself.

It is impossible for us to keep his commandments and work our way into heaven. God knew this, the whole reason we have his commandments was to prove that we can not get into heaven by ourself.

I think everyone goes to heaven, cause nomatter what God will always love and forgive you. plus I dont believe in hell
