Hi,

I’m a mother of two. I say, best way to give birth to a baby is the way that feels best. Listen to your body, rely on your instincts. You fell you want a soft, dry bed. Give birth in bed. You feel you need to walk around during labor. Walk around. You feel you want a nice, warm bath. Get in the tub.

Best place to have your baby is a place where you feel comfortable. Best people (midwife, doctor) to have around you are those you know, like AND trust.

I gave birth to my first kid in a birth-house (special hospital that has only mothers in labor, no other patients). The second baby was born at home in my own tub. In Germany, we have birth-houses in all large towns and there are midwives who come to your home. So we don’t need to go to hospital if we don’t want to.

If you’re pregnant check your hospital/ birth-house/ midwife /doctor/ wherever-you-want-to-go. Ask them if you can see the birth rooms. Ask them if their midwives do parent-tutorials (where you learn to change diapers and cook baby food). Book one. Get to know the people. If you don’t like them, go somewhere else.

It’s not unnatural to give birth in a birthing pool. The term ‘natural childbirth’ usually refers to not using pain-relieving drugs to assist in the delivery.

A birthing pool is a shallow kiddie-type pool filled with warm water. The mother lays back or kneels in the water and gives birth to the infant directly into the water. The transition from womb to warm water is supposed to be less traumatic to the infant, and the sensation of being surrounded by warm water has a calming effect on the mother as well. Many find it to be a much more soothing way to give birth, as opposed to laying on a stainless steel table with your legs in the air. Many hospitals will make arrangements for birthing pools if requested.

im not pregnant, but I was doing some homework and we had to research them and I just wondered if it was easier to give birth in a birthing pool (: thankyouu anyway x

Birthing Pools are tub like things filled with water and when a women is about to go into labor she can give natural birth or birth in a tub
