What age is a good age for taking kids to the theaters?

I think it personally depends on each individual child but for me I have been very fortunate enough that I have waited till the right age my sons first movie was the cat in the hat and he was 4 and my daughters first movie was meet the robinsons and she was 2 1/2. and well we attempted to take my son early but he was just to young and so we were hesitant to take my daughter at just over 2 but it turned out well and she has gone to about a dozen movies since . today for instance we saw enchanted soo cute and she loved it then again anything to do with princess’s catches her eye. so how about you what age was the right age for your child?? did you take him/her find out it wasnt going to work and tried again much later down the rd???

Well.. I’m only 19 so I don’t have any kids myself but I come from a large Italian family with plenty of young cousins… Honestly I do believe its exactly like you said: it depends on the kid. For example, when my cousins were around 4 and 6 we went to see finding nemo and they FREAKED OUT when the shark came on. Like, they literally left the theatre. Sometimes its easy to forget how scary something can be when you’re little. Honestly, have a test run. Take your child to a matinee so this way if your child has an episode like the one I just described you will have only paid $5 for it and there wont be many people around to see it. Another good idea is to try and watch a movie with your child at home with the lights off, and possibly with the volume at a higher than normal level. If your child can handle this, odds are he/she can handle a movie theatre. Hope this helps!

I will say 8 or 9 becuse they will be old enough to sit in the theater with out making noise and you constnatly have to leave out because they need or want something
