This question has some advice with step-by-step instructions on how to get waves in your hair. The person asking was a girl, but I doubt that matters any.

The best advice in my opinion:
- wash your hair out with water or put on a hot wet wash cloth
- put grease of your choice on 3.brush hair for 5 minutes 4.put on hair oil( oil sheen or olive oil 5brush hair for 5 more minutes 6.put on du-rag for 30 minutes of overnight
- take of du-rag and brush for 5 minutes.
- get a hair cut every 2 weeks
