Getting waves with straight hair?

My hair gets really frizzy. I want my hair to have volume and not static

I have alot of waves in the back of my hair and a few on the top . How do i get alot on the top and alot on the sides?

My son want waves in his head and we have tried for a week using sportin waves can you give me some advice.
