What do you think about Watson, the new computer on Jeopardy?
So I was watching this yesterday and I was astounded by this robot, it just seemed so unfair for the other two guys and they looked pretty unhappy during the entire game (although the Final Jeopardy question was hilarious). Was anyone else watching? How did you find it? And you know, the general worry about robots taking over the world is welcome too =P
I didn’t watch but I’ve read a few articles…seriously impressed (what, the computer beat the guy 3:1 in dollars in the first round)?
I think it’s kind of scary, but cool at the same time. The machine was so fast it was freaky to me.
I felt bad for the guys also because I don’t know how they timed the thing they have to click to answer to make it even and fair wit the computer. The computer would be faster at any type of clicking. There is a delay from the time we think about it until it reaches the thumb and press. I watched it from half way so I don’t know if that part got explained or not.
