How to be able to wait instead of getting really excited for the whole time?

so I cant wait to see my grandma but I’m not leaving for a little less than 3 weeks and I just cannot wait! I know that its gonna be that day really soon so I don’t need to get that excited , plus I still need to talk to my grandma about it because she’s away for spring break to see her daughter. So that’s why because I’ve already got my hopes up , and I’m not focusing on anything else. So what do you do to control how excited you are?

I keep myself busy. If you have anything you’ve been putting off doing, get it done while you’re waiting. Go out with friends. Get involved in activities that you really enjoy. Write, if you like writing.

Perhaps there’s a project that you can work on, especially for your grandma. Can you make her something to bring as a gift?

This is really nice how you are excited to see your grandma :) Many kids your age think grandparents are ‘uncool’ and whatnot. I think you need to talk to your grandma as soon as possible to actually organize the trip, then you know for sure that you are going. In the meantime, as lame as it sounds, maybe focus on school work or you could even make a present for your grandma like a couch cushion, a photo frame with a pic of you guys inside, a clay house decoration, etc etc. She’d love it.
