Why is it on tv shows they always have one person who is constantly eating?

Most T.V shows use characters that are easily relatable by the viewers. Often, you will find that T.V shows will have the “nuclear family”, with the smart one, the irresponsible one, the stern parent etc. It makes the show more enjoyable when the viewer can relate, and it adds a comical aspect to it.

Eating is a way of expressing someone’s emotions through the food they are consuming. Watch what that person is eating and when they eat because that is their personality trait that usually contrasts into the other characters of the show and fits in without the basic plot outline.

Isn’t that the wrong idea to give people? That they shud eat to help solve emotional probs? I’m just sayin. I’m not tryin to argue, I understand wat ur sayin

Not all tv shows do. For the ones that do, I guess it’s to shape up their character so the things they do in the show are expected from them. Like in one tv show, he could be the most daring because he would do anything to eat or for food. Also it gives them the lazy vibe. I haven’t watched any tv show which had the main character always eating. There may have been another character who was but he wasn’t too important in the show. Sort of like a person needed in the show but he doesn’t do much or isn’t too important so they give him the role of the person who is always eating. Also the one person who is always eating is generally funny so I guess it helps keep the audience entertained.

Because if you look around, there is always someone in real life that’s eating all of the time. TV shows try and make it as close to real life as possible so that the audience can relate to the characters.

so the fat person irl has someone to relate to
