Is it true that Walt Disney was a racist?

That could explain those crows in Dumbo…or how he always had black characters have big lips and make them seem dumb….I personally never liked Walt, he seemed like he was hiding something….something creepy….

I think he was no more racist than the average people of his time.

But there are disney movies that have been banned in the USA for being racist or otherwise politically incorrect. And that may have led to the assumption that Walt Disney was racist.

But though those movies today seem extremely disrespectful towards black people, towards native American people or towards other minorities, in the time when they were made, the cartoons in the daily newspapers were very much the same and no one really cared. The movies were considered acceptable when they were made. Society has changed. Nowadays this is no more considered acceptable.

That one is not racist. It’s pretty accurately describing the mechanisms of education and propaganda in Hitlers Third Reich. A little exaggerating, maybe. I don’t understand why it’s banned. There are similar cartoons and movies that they use in Germany today, to teach little kids about why their great-grandpa was one of the bad guys.
