Tips for learning to have a better work, life balance

I hate to call it a “resolution” but my goal for the year is to have a better work and life balance. So far, despite peer pressure at work, I’ve been succeeding.

Here’s the short list:

  1. leave at 5 - if it’s that urgent, I do it first, and if it’s not that urgent, I can finish in the morning.
  2. wake up when the kids do, which means sleeping earlier.
  3. play, have fun, and leave work, at work.

What’s your secret if you have one to having a better work life balance? Any tips to share for those of us trying to learn to do it better?

I don’t know if you do it already or not, but it’s a GREAT idea for many reasons to have dinner all together, around the table in the evening…..creates a real bond and gives you the chance to ask about their day and lets them know you really do care….plus, many memories are made.

That sounds admirable. I have to try the “leave at 5” thing & put off all other work till the next morning myself…can you really still get all your work done that way?
