Do teeth whitening strips work?

The other day a girl asked me if I drink coffee, because my teeth looked yellow. Do teeth whitening strips work? if so how long? what if you just put rubbing alchool on your teeth. I don’t know. do you have any idea that will help whiten your teeth?

Answer #1

I drank a lot of coffee and the crest strips are the best. The others taste nasty or don’t wrk too well. The strips are somewhat expensive like 30.00 but last for a year. I get a lot of compliments about them now. Another cheaper was is listerine whitening mouth wash. For more suttle results, toothpaste or baking soda!

Baking soda does work really well know you can buy baking soda tooth paste and its really good! + it tastes quite normal !!!

Well I’ve tried a lot of these whitening strips and none of them seem to work that well. What does seem to work is brushing my teeth with baking soda… Yes it is very old fashioned and may taste a bit funny but it works great. Also the rubbing alcohol is not a good idea … the bottel does say external use only… its to harmful to take that risk. Brush atleast twice a day, floss and rinse with mouthwash and you will sooon c a difference. P.S. stay away from coffee and dark sodas (I hope you dont smoke that causes your teeth to look pretty bad too)

Answer #4

Yeah teeth whitening strips work (try crest), I dont know exactly how long they keep your teeth white for, but if you continue to brush your teeth with teeth whitening toothpaste, it should maintain the white… uhm you could poison yourself with rubbing alcohol. I wouldn’t recommend it. And I dont see why it would make your teeth whiter.

Coffee does stain teeth, it’s not a negative thing though =) I used to try whitening strips but find I like Myrrh better. It’s natural, and healing to teeth and gums- has other uses too. You only need a bit on a q-tip to swab at night before bed. Myrrh is more enjoyable considering cost, sensitivity caused by whitening strips, and appearance (more like “pearly whites” instead of unnaturally white look.) I found some at my local health foods store.

Answer #6

I used to use strips but find I like to use Myrrh better, just a bit at night with q-tip. Myrrh is natural and also gum healing.. definitely more win than the sensitivity and price of whitening strips.
