Are you surprised that Russian and Qatar won the bid to host the World Cup in 2018 and 2022?

Not really. Russia has hosted the Olympics and other global sporting events before, they certainly have the infrastructure. As for Qatar, I don’t know what they’ve hosted but they have the money and resources to get themselves ready by 2022. I like seeing the World Cup hosted by countries that haven’t had it before, changes things up a bit.

Seeing as I come from the UK,people here are rather taken aback and disappointed that our bid –which we put so much into–was only endorsed by one other country, and we don’t even know which country it was. Many people here are saying: “Surely it was a Fix!!”–to which FIFA Chairman Sepp Blatter would probably reply: “Don’t be so ridiculous,and please don’t call me SHIRLEY!!”

I think it was a fix. It should be about football not politics it’s a complete joke.

It seems to me that losing bidders often make accusations that the process is fixed in things like this. Do you have any real evidence to support that, or are you just mad Britain didn’t get it?

why can’t they just host only in 2018, and leav the olympics for the other countries too. And by the way qatar is in russia? I dont know so that’s why I am asking
