Stressed to impress

When should you give up on trying to impress, and just be happy as a single?

Answer #1

Society puts so much pressure on singles - especially women - to be in relationships that people forget that they have to be happy with themselves in order to be happy with someone else. That applies to friendships as well as intimate relationships. Happy singles:

• Aren’t obsessed with having kids or being married.

• Are health conscious, believing exercise and a healthy diet give them balance and boost self-esteem.

• Love themselves and take full responsibility for their bad choices.

• Never compromise their standards.

• Live life to the fullest, treating strangers with kindness, are optimistic about everything and have a zest for life.

• Don’t define themselves by how much money they earn or their level of education.

• Associate with other happy and positive people.

Answer #2

Oh, anytime is a good time for that. The happier you are with who you are the sooner you’ll become a fuller and funner person. There is no reason not to be happy single. And more than likely you will seem more attractive for it. I look at it like this- I am an awesome person, and I have a ton of freedom being single. But if some great guy comes along, I would love to give him a chance to be friends and maybe more.
