Is it ok if I spray heat protection then I straighten my hair and smokes comes up?

Answer #1

The smoke coud be from the straightener. Is there a sizzling sound when the smoke comes up? If so, the spray hasn’t dried on your hair yet. It is recommended that you wait for the spray to dry before straightening your hair. If its not completely dry, it wont work as well which is why the smoke might be coming up. It also depends on the temperature the straighteners on. If its on high, then your more likely to have smoke come up with a protection spray or not.

Answer #2

The smoke is actually steam and it’s perfectly normal seeing as you are compressing intense heat to liquid. It’s like boiling water. It means that your heat protectant is working well, and that your hair isn’t getting as damaged as it could be because the protectant spray is doing it’s job! ALWAYS USE PROTECTANT! :)
