How much deeper would the ocean be if sponges didn't grow in it?
I think it would be emptier. Getting rid of sponges would ruin the food chain and everything would (possibly) die.
It's like this. Get a glass, fill it with water and put your fingers in it. When there is something in there the water will over flow the cup (if you fill it to the top, of course) If you got rid of sponges, collapsed the food chain and nothing was in the ocean, except for seaweed(?), sand and water there wouldn't be as deep because nothing is filling it.
Don't know. There are still Trenches. No one had ever touched a trench.
