Can The Sims Double Deluxe wipe out your operating system?

my laptop has sims double deluxe on it with the sims pets as an attachment i was playing it one day and i closed the laptop cause it was ffreezing and thats the only way it will gewt off is if i close the laptop and open it but it was fucking up so i just turned it off and now when i try to turn it on it sais operating system not found after a hole bunch of calculations, can i fix it? and i bought the sims frpom wallmart and right when i got it ii couldnt make a family or nothing cause i would freeze and screw up so now im without my amazing laptop :(((

How old is the laptop? Games usually will overheat a computer and laptops are already running too hot doing nothing because of tiny fans and low circulation. This is made worse by some people that also use their computers on their beds. Use another computer to get on Google and type in your computer brand and model number and type in System recovery. Usually laptops will have a recovery partition and you hit a couple of keys on the keyboard and it takes you to the system recovery process. The bad thing is that you will loose all the programs, pictures, music and videos that you installed after you purchased your laptop. On the next boot up, your laptop will be brought back to the way it was when you first bought it.
