Can you get sick from inhaling food mold?

So me and my friend got in an argument because he says you can’t, and I say you can. If the food has been in your house long enough with the mold on it, can you get sick from possibly inhaling it?

You can get sick from inhaling “certain types” of mold spores, but not all types. Stachiboughtrous (SP) or “black mold” is very dangerous and can cause all kinds of health problems and some are even mysterious. It’s caused by water damage such as a leak or flood damage, nonetheless food that has been “wet” is certainly at risk. But for the most part, I think most food mold does not become “airborne” spores, rather it clings to the food itself and should be relatively safe, just get rid of it asap.
