should I audition for the upcoming play?!

‘kay. So my school is going to be doing a play and auditions are this Tuesday for: House of Blue Leaves. And I really like theatre, it’s a buttload of fun and I would really like to try out but I’m scared and not sure if I’m good enough to play a major role like the character Bananna. I know it’s silly to ask people for something I should do on my own but should I just try, even if I don’t get in? Oh, I’m also really scared of performing in front of people. I forgot my first line to ‘Death of a Salesman’ and it was just “Oh, Willy! What are you doing here, aren’t you supposed to be in Yonkers?” or something like that. help!

I think you should go for it - There are tons of audition material type scripts you can read on the internet so you can audition as a character with a similar attitude.
