Should I abandon my university degree?

I’ve been doing my uni degree for the past 5 years, part-time. Its been a struggle, balancing work committments, completing assignments.

I want to give the degree up and move on, despite 5 subject to completion. I no longer have the motivation (most of my latest completed subjects have been passes with one or two fails).

So far, all my jobs have been related to the degree but no one has ever questioned me about it.

I feel like I’m only doing the degree for sake of completion and status. Am I losing focus? What should I do?

Yeah, who wants to say they hung in there when the going got tough and achieved a significant accomplishment anyway - losing focus ? yes….what should I do ?….your call.

Answer #2

It took me 12 years go finish my Bachelor’s degree. I changed major a few times and I usually worked full time and only took 1 class/semester so it was a long haul.

For me it was certainly worth it. I did get bogged down working toward my M.S. I took a job that was too demanding and after several semesters where I ended up dropping my class I gave up. In my field having a M.S. does not really get you more money or prestige.
