My friend can't stop lying

LOL I got a friend the same way. Shes always lying about being pregnant. I swear she has been pregnant 10 times and then always claims she lost the baby. I’ve known her for 4 years and now her lying is gettin out of control. I stopped talking to her because her lying ws getting crazy. Its funny to me and d@mn she need some help. She just ruiend 3 good friendships over a dumb lie. She lies about dumb stuff but I’ve never said anything. Lol omg she lied about having her own apartment. LIE! shes 18 and stays at home with her mom and dad.I dont beleive a word she says anymore. Its just halarious to me now. LOL LOL

compulsive liers..not a nice title. my little boys like it, lies spill out of his mouth, and sometimes, before he’s finished the sentence he’ll correct himself (rarely, generally if he knows he’s being caught out!! lol)

the thing about lying, is, once you start, you loose control. one lie always leads to another. you will, I’m afraid, have to tell her. just say to her ‘look, I am going to miss your friendship, but I can’t be friends with someone I can’t trust’

thats what this comes down to, trust. how can you be friends with someone when your doubting everything they say. unfortuently, the little boy who cried wolf, one day was actually telling the truth..and we know what happened then (I used that story all the time!)

she may well try and excuse her behaviour with something or oter reason, but you need to just say that ‘you don’t trust anything she says anymore’ this is down to her actions, no one elses…well done for sticking by her, but she has abused your friendship…

Like pretty much everyone else said…let her find out the hard way. She’ll probably end up alone a miserable with no one to talk to or hang out with. She’ll live all by herself with her “twins” or whatever how many kids she has.

I think she knows already, she done it in school too, I know she wants to stop you can see it in her face after shes said it, but she thinks I hang on to her every word and believes what she says =| . I just dont know what to do anymore.

Sounds like she needs to find out the hard way. Only when she loses every friend then she will realize what lieing has done to her. I don’t think there is anything for you to do I think she needs to find it out for herself.

just like ‘loulou11’ said she just needs to find out the hard way. and oy uhave to tell her that either you cant keep standing by her all the time and she has to stop lieing or you guys arent going to be good friends for very long. or you will be the only friend she has left and you will end up leaving her. she has to stop so tell her that she has to stop.

Sounds to me like she has a problem. Some people lie like that and really cannot help it. They aren’t doing it to gain attention or to look cool. Some people just do it because, like you said, it just falls out of her mouth. I’m not sure if this is the correct spelling…habitual liar.
