Is it okay to seek out someone from a past life or would it just upset them?

In my last human life (very recent) I had a sister Carine whom I remembered, she would be 41 if she is still alive. If someone came to you and said they were related to you from a past life would you wish to reunite with them even though they are in a different body and life, or would the contact just make you grieve all over again?
