What's the secret to keeping cookies soft when you bake them?
You mean like after you bake them ? Keep them in a zip lock baggie or a tight lock plastic container.
Its like when I take them out of the oven they r soft but like 10 minutes after that they r hard
I hear that using shortening helps. Like when a recipe calls for using butter, instead, add half the butter and substitute the other half with shortening. Also, using brown sugar instead of white sugar, and freezing the dough (after you have shaped them) before baking. Baking it the minimum amount of time, then leaving them on one of those cookie stands to continue cooking itself and cool.
Cool thx :-)
If you keep them in a tin box or any other airtight box they remain soft.
put them in plastic bag or tin afterwards and throw in a couple pieces of bread… the bread will dry up instead of the cookies!
Thx I will try the bread thing :-)
When you’re baking them, make sure you take them out of the oven before they look entirely cookie-like: they should be a little too soft when you take them out, because they’ll harden when they cool.
wrap them…on a plare…in tin foil, and if that doesn’t work next time put it in a plastic contaner

I don’t know which recipe you use but mine stay soft afterwards I usually take them out right before they’re actually “done” and they just continue to cook a bit once i’ve taken them out, dry up and are beautifully soft! yumm.
It can sometimes be the recipe you use. I tend to have harder cookies when I get them pre-packaged. When I make them from scratch (some recipes), they are much softer.
