Put my cat in a crate at nighttime

Is this action to be discouraged or a good idea way to discipline my cat, she sleeps all day and won’t let me sleep at night

Answer #1

Definitely a bad idea. All cats sleep during the day and get active at night, that’s just their nature. Putting the poor thing in a crate at night isn’t going to solve your problem or teach it “discipline”. If you can’t handle a little laziness or some noise, give her to someone who can.

Answer #2

Does the cat sleep in the same room with you? Maybe you should let them roam the house instead, or maybe turn on the radio before sleepin to help the cat not wake you up when they are in your room

Answer #3

They’re supposed to be active at night, you can’t punish her for it. Let her outside.

Answer #4

I strongly advise against letting your cat out of the house. Not only are roaming cats at risk of being struck by vehicles or getting into fights with other animals, they are notorious for digging through people’s gardens and garbage cans. If you don’t want your cat killed, whether by another animal or a fed-up neighbour lacing their garbage cans with rat poison, you’ll do the right thing and keep your cat inside, where it’s safe.

Answer #5

^ Agree 100%! After my three have dinner, they stay inside.

Answer #6

I decided to let her do as she pleases and she usually sleeps beside me at night anyways.I don’t have a cage and now I see that I don’t wanna do that to her it might traumatize her in the long run

Answer #7

That’s cool. Hope it worked out, which it sounds like it did :-):-)
