Puppy cry :(

My neighbor just handed me a little puppy told me that the owner doesn’t want it anymore and because I pity for it I accepted it though I have two other dogs already. Im planning to search another home for it. However, his first night with us was awful. He wont stop crying. Loudly. How can I control it? Or minimize it until the day I find someone to take care for it?

Answer #4

Puppies will cry, if you were a little tiny kid and shuffled into a completely new environment from everything you knew in your life, you would cry all night too.

You need to let the puppy know that it is not alone, cuddle up with it and pat it until it calms down. Maybe even keep a radio on low so there can be a little noise going on so it doesn’t feel so alone. If you just want it to drift to sleep make sure it has lots of blankets to cuddle up in and even maybe get a hot water bottle for it to snuggle up next to like it was used to with its mother.

The puppy just wants to know that its going to be okay, comfort it like you would a small child.

Answer #5

maybe the puppy is sick and needs to see a vet.

Answer #6

do what they said take it around your home

Answer #7

locking it in the closet is just plain mean, put a diaper on it and let it sleep with you
