Can I pull out money from a college checking account?

My grandma made a college checking account when I was younger, and I am 18 now, about to start college. And we are going to put it into my name. But my question is can I pull out money instead of writing a check? Or is there an option where I can get a card for it instead? I hate writing checks.

The bank will have the information you need - we can’t answer this question as a simple “yes” or “no”, because bank accounts come with so many different policies. However, I’ve yet to hear of a bank that won’t allow you to take the cash out if you visit a teller and ask for it.
