Im having some major problems at home right now. My dad hasn’t come home yet, so me and my mom think he is out getting sh!t faced. My mom is taking all her anger out on me. She is telling me its my fault my dad is drinking and that im not good enough to be her daughter. All I want to do is get out of my house for a few hours, but I have no where to go, so im forced to sit here listening to my mom make me feel like im not good enough. What should I do???

It does sound like your family has some serious problems. I’d suggest some kind of family counselor. If that isn’t possible, then I’d suggest that you pick one of the Advisors as a sounding board to bounce your problems off of. Keep the links below handy as a reference:

If you are having problems or are depressed, below are a couple of sites that may help you:

Worldwide:

Check out the Befrienders link below. They are not only a suicide hotline but also offer help to people who are stressed or are in a state of depression.

If in the U.S.A., you also have access to:

I want to tell you this…IT IS UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES YOUR FAULT HE DRINKS…he makes these choices himself. You don’t hand him a bottle and force him to drink. Maybe he drinks because he is not happy at home, but there are better ways to deal with problems at home then that. Your mom is very wrong in saying you are at fault. You should go to your room to get away from her or go for a walk or something till she calms down.then tell her that you are sorry she feels that it is your fault but that it’s not and that you dislike the way she treats you.if she continues to treat you that way then get help from an outside source.a teacher, social services, etc. I hope I helped.
