What can I do about the feathers coming out of my down-filled winter jacket?

I bought this winter jacket insulated with down (feathers) and I really like the look of it and it keeps me warm, but the feathers consistently come out through the fabric on the inside of the jacket and cover my clothes. It’s embarrassing sometimes if there’s a lot all over a sweater I’m wearing and people see. I’m kinda strapped for cash to buy a new nice jacket, and was wondering if anyone could give me ideas to maybe insulate the jacket more? Thanks

Hello!Try polystyrene balls.Great insulator!

There really isn’t anything you can do. Next time you buy a jacket, look for one that’s 100% down (that’s the feathers minus the stick part which is why it’s coming out) and no feather or a jacket with a different filling.

Have to agree with Janice…it’s the type of feathers the manufacturer used. You might be able to have a taylor/seamstress put in an added lining to the jacket. Depending on cost, it might be worth it or then again getting another jacket that is 100% down.
