Being proud, and overly-flamboyant are two different things.

Being proud is defending what you believe in because you think what you follow/believe in is right.

Being flamboyant is going on the internet, going to a website designed to ask questions and get help for said questions, and randomly announcing that you are proud of your sexual orientation to people on the internet who did not ask you to share that.

Be cautious, no one likes option #2.
