Can pressing on the stomach cause a miscarriage?

If I had trouble going to the bathroom a doctor told me to push the food down and I did that when I didn’t know I was pregnant. Could that have called my miscarriage?

I don’t believe so. A hard blow to the stomach such as when one is “beaten up” could cause a miscarriage.

It’s very unlikely, especially during the first trimester. The fetus is quite well protected through several layers of flesh and fat, and then in a thick womb surrounded by amniotic fluid. I would be more concerned about your doctor’s advice … push the food down? Ridiculous.
