Why is it that when I poop, my anus bleeds?

When i clean myself there is blood stains on the paper … is it bad ? what do i do ?

Answer #1

Go to a doctor, I don’t think that is something normal, unless you are on your period and blood somehow got over there?

Answer #2

Are you sure it’s coming from your anus? If so have you had any anal sex lately?

Answer #3

If it is spots of bright red blood on the paper, but none in the actual bowl, then you could have just slightly torn your anus. My suggestion would be using baby wipes to wipe, instead of toilet paper, as they are a lot softer. I have had this problem myself in the past and it is just because paper is so rough. Try baby wipes the next few times and if you do not improve or start to notice an increase of blood, or some in the toilet bowl too, then seek proper medical advice.

If your actual stool isn’t really dark, or has spots of red, in it; you should be fine.

It’s most likely a small tear. Every time you poop, the skin is stretching and causing the tear to reopen.

As gross as it may sound to you, put some lotion around your anus to keep it moisturized. The skin there is very easy to tear and can be very hard to heal.

You could also put some Neosporin down there.

Be gentle when you wipe.

I wouldn’t go to the doctor yet if there isn’t anything in your stools.

If the bleeding is still going on after two or three days of using lotion and/or Neosporin, then go to the doctor. Using baby wipes is also a good idea for when you are cleaning the area.

If you’re still nervous, then go to the doctor, it will make you feel better.
