I have a couple of cockatiels back in another country. One of them was rescued from being attacked by monkeys because she crash-landed near them. I’m guessing she flew away from someone else’s balcony. We rescued her and never heard of any missing cockatiels being reported, so we kept her. She’s been with us for many, many years now.

So if other people have found her, they might’ve kept her out of danger’s way. Try putting up flyers around your area on your missing cockatiel with a photo of it with your contact number. Maybe even descriptions of its color or even types of songs it likes to sing.

I’m not sure if cockatiels are smart enough to come back home, unless it’s been flying free-range around your house for awhile to be able to notice the difference between your house from other people’s houses.

So yeah, even contacting local shelters and vets for any incidences of a lost cockatiel would be helpful as well.
