Pls advise

I m applying for the job since last 3-4 months and first time I got reply. Bt they asked me just 1 line “ ARE YOU OF NATIVE BACKGROUND?” I m nt born canadian bt living here since 4 years.What shud I reply and why wud they just want to know this.I already gave my local address and my experience of working here.

To explain more clearly - A Canadian Native is an Aboriginal…if you don’t have Canadian Aboriginal blood, then you are not a Native, regardless of whether you’re Canadian born or not.

The reason they need to know that is for tax purposes - Natives don’t pay taxes on many things.

Being Native doesn’t mean you’re “Canadian”, it means you are of first nations.

personally I dont think you should answer that..wether you are or not of native background it shouldnt matter.you’d still have the same working skills..try to get in contact with the manager if you can. ask him to review your application and tell him about the response you received and ask what they means by that
