Hello Im looking forward to bring a laptop, pet and just wanting to know what you can bring from Vietnam back to Australia.

If it was the laptop.

  1. Would I have to pay to take it here?
  2. Will they let me bring it back and check it for Virus etc. First? 3 Will I be holding it back? or delivered back to my home?

If it was a pet Dog or reptile.

  1. Would I have to get it checked?
  2. Will they let me bring it back?
  3. If I do bring it and they say no, Where will it be kept?

PLease Copy and paste these questions and give them as an answer layout.

Answer #1

I doubt you can bring the pet here they quarantine everything and animals carry diseases as akumo said to protect the wildlife and other animals of australia, I dont think they allow animals from other countries in you would have to ask the authority figures there but dont expect them to say yes the laptop will be fine to take but they will check for viruses so you dont transfer or send them to other computers

If it was the laptop.

  1. Would I have to pay to take it here? Shouldnt have to
  2. Will they let me bring it back and check it for Virus etc. First? Yes. 3 Will I be holding it back? or delivered back to my home? Holding it yourself would be better.

As for pets, I doubt you could get away with them, they can carry diseases.

You should have no problems with your laptop, unless they have some reason to believe that you’re storing tons of porn or pirated movies/music on it.

And as for your pet. You would have to make sure what animal it is. The more exotic it is (for example, a lizard than a dog), the harder to near impossible it will be to import it to Australia. You will have to call the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS). It usually requires lots of vet checks, medical certification, filling forms with AQIS and then a long period of quarantine at a special area at the airport. Remember, all this will cost more money than it’s worth.
