How do you find the speed of an object without a given time

How do you find the speed of an object without a given time.the problem is “an archer fires a 30-kg arrow form a bow the archer exerts an average force of 200 and to draw the string back 1.3m..assuming no frictional loss, what speed does the arow leave the bow

And how do you find the height of that problem

Answer #1

It has been years, but maybe the 200 is 200 newtons (which is a force equal to 1 kg·m/s²) so that force applied to the mass of the arrow over the distance of the draw (1.3 meters) or something along that line. As for height, if the arrow were pointed straight up or at an angle UP, would the vertical component of the trajectory be the same? If so how long before gravity would overcome the vertical ascent, how long would it take, how high would it go ,

Admittedly this is rather confused. It’s past 1 AM and I’m tired, and physics was about 40 years ago.

Interesting problem though. Wish I had time to work it out.

Good Luck!!
