Second period this month ?

So this might be a little graphic, sorry. My period started on the first, and ended on the fourth. Earlier today my period started again ? Except it wasn’t normal, it wasn’t a lot of blood but a lot of very thick brown discharge. Yesterday I was having pain above my pelvic bone and last week I was having lower back pain. I am on birth control, visatril, geodon and prozac. I have not been taking my meds as much as I should be lately. My boyfriend thinks I may have been pregnant and had a miscarrige, I don’t know anything about this/ Any ideas ?

I don’t think it’s a miscarriage. I think it’s possible that your not taking your regular antidepressants, anxiety, meds messed up your cycle a little an caused some extra discharge. I’m not sure what about the other medication you are taking, but antidepressants are known to cause period irregularities due to hormonal changes. Not to mention, irregular spotting/discharge can happen to us due to many many reasons, change in diet, being sick etc.

Hmm, I hope so. Thank you

Answer #3

I really doubt that you had a miscarriage. I’m pretty sure your meds are just making your cycle act up. If you forgot any pills then that could have done it.

I’m gonna update just in case this changes anything towards any of your thoughts. The bleeding stopped after 4 days and for the past 3 days I’ve been having lots of thick brown discharge.

Answer #7

Hm well, obviously, if you want anything accurate, doctors. But similar things have happened to me and that is usually when I mess with the cycle of the nuvaring (the one that I’m on) thereby messing around with my hormone levels which you are by not taking your medication in a timely fashion, or have been eating different. I then get random bleeding and random discharge to which I usually take a test, just to make sure, and am negative. Random discharge does happen sometimes, I find I also get some thick brown discharge sometimes a week before my period. But always, if this is really concerning you, go to your doctor :/ if anything they can maybe change the bc you are on? Or perhaps take a look at the medication you are taking and make adjustments?

Answer #8

Another update. I have started bleeding again but this time very heavy and I’m in a lot of pain.

It might be your cycle acting up since I had this before last year and it just changed dates(like it was towards the end of the month before but now it’s in the middle) Oh you say bleeding? you need to go to the doctor asap!!!!!!
